Choose your own adventure…I did! by The Polka Dotted Pug

Last Wednesday, mom took me for a walk by myself and then came back to get brother & sister.  She put me in the backyard, alone. I was not a happy pug so when she took the pups to the left, I snuck out under the fence and went to the right.  I went on a little adventure throughout the neighborhood.  I went to visit Sherman, but he wasn’t home.  I went to visit my human friends Luke & Olivia, but they were home either.  So then I was on a hunt for either dogs or kids to play with.  I was gone for a pretty long time and was started to get tired.  I decided to head to the apartment where mom and dad used to live because I really like the dogs that lived behind us.  Just as I was running to the backyard I was scooped up and cuddled by a little girl.  It was wonderful.  Her mom looked at my tags and then called my mom.  She was there in no time.  She picked me up and cuddled me and told me that she was very upset.  Apparently, mom and dad had been looking for me for 2 hours and were worried that I got hit by a car or someone stole me.  Mom was crying.  I felt really bad then and promised that I’d never run away again.  I want to thank my mom for putting a tag on me with her phone number.  I would have been so sad if I never got to see my family again.

I like being dirty… by The Polka Dotted Pug

Mom likes it when we are clean and smell nice.  I, however, do not care and am quite content being dirty.

I was with my mom and brother at Aunt Sara’s house, visiting Presley when…it happened.  I was in the backyard sniffing around, doing my thing, when the neighbor let their 2 dogs out.  The boxer could care less about me, but the other, a Bull Mastiff named Fergus, was happy to meet me.  We sniffed and ran the length of the fence for a bit and then it happened…HE PEED ON ME!  Mom was NOT happy!  As soon as I came inside she said she could smell pee and then sniffed brother, Presley, and then she got to me.  She picked me up and started squirting this girlie smelling soap on my head and rubbing until it hurt.  And then, my head was WET.  So the rest of the night she kept telling me I smelled and that I had to get a bath when I got home.  No mom, not the b word!  Ugh.  I lost that battle.  See for yourself…

No mom, not the paws!!!

I am not going to talk to you for a whole hour for doing this to me!

Do I look happy to you? Just leave me dirty and stinky...it's fine.

This is the life. Mom, can I have this heater on me all the time?

Elvis & I are STUDS! by The Polka Dotted Pug

Last Sunday mom and dad took Elvis and I to our monthly Pug Play Group at Poco’s Playhouse in Perrysburg. We had so much fun running around with all the pugs!  And, unlike last time, we found love!!  Elvis, the little stud-muffin that he is, had 2 cute little puggies chasing after him.  I only had one perfect puggy, Lady…but I’ve been after her for awhile.  Finally, she feels the same way about me!

I wish she was the only pug that was following me around…unfortunately, she wasn’t!  There was a rather large pug, we’ll name him Snorty for now, that would not leave me alone.  I just wanted a little bit of space so I could woo Lady, but Snorty was always right by me.  I eventually broke down and snapped at him.  Do you think he could take a hint?!?  Nope, he was right back to my side.  Hmmmm, hopefully Snorty does not come to Pug Play Group next month.

Here's my girl, Lady. We have so much in common, including our extra large tongues! I think I'm in love!

Here's Bella, one of Elvis's little cuties!

Elvis' other girl...which one will he choose?

There's Snorty...see how he's always there! Dad, do something! Pick me up!!!

Helping dad drive home...I think he was a little worn out from Pug Play Group too! Don't worry, dad. You put your foot on that pedal and I'll take care of the rest! Oh, and buckle up...it could get bumpy!

Wow, 2 photo shoots in 1 day…I’m a celebrity!  Not only was I on the early am news on Channel 13 yesterday, but last night at 10 pm I was on Fox Toledo news too!  Dad was interviewed about the dog park again and I was in all the shots.  I have to admit, I really like the attention…plus, I get to spend time with my dad without brother and sister being there.  I forgot how funny he can be!

Check out some pictures from yesterday:

Here's dad, kicking off the interview. I'm much more comfortable this time since it's not 5am!

Other side, mom...this is a bad angle.

Does this bandana make me look fat?

No more pictures, mom, I'm pooped. It's tough being a celebrity!

I’m a Star! by The Polka Dotted Pug

Today, I made my TV debut with my dad (he’s a veteran TV star) on Channel 13 news at 5:30am.  It was a little scary to be in front of the camera, knowing a bunch of my friends and their owners were watching.  But, as soon as I spotted my mom behind the camera man, I started to calm down and enjoy myself!  Dad talked about the new dog park and answered lots of questions.  I think it went really well and I can’t wait for the dog park to be open as soon as the snow melts!

If you want to check me out on TV this morning, click here.

Here I am, with dad, getting ready for my big TV debut!

The start of the interview. My, I am one handsome pug!

My dad is doing such a great job talking about our new dog park! Go, Dad, Go!

Here is some of the great friends I made at the Pug play group at Poco’s Playhouse last Sunday.  It was a Valentine’s Day celebration, but I didn’t find love…yet, anyway.  Maybe next month (fingers crossed).

This is Brad, he’s my new friend.  He let me sit on his lap when the other Pugs were DRIVING ME CRAZY!  Thanks Brad.

This is Popeye – believe it or not, he makes ME look skinny.  Sorry Popeye, it’s true.  (Scroll down for the BIGGEST Pug I’ve ever seen)….

This guy sits like a human – I think he’s eating like one too.  Still not the biggest pug ever…

Say it again in my good ear, mom! by The Polka Dotted Pug

Did I just hear my mom correctly?!?  Toledo WILL be getting a dog park soon?  Wow, I can’t even believe it.  We have been waiting so long for this day.  I don’t even know what I want to do first….sniff tails, pee on things, sniff tails, pee on other things…

I can’t wait until I have somewhere to take my brother and sister to run.  The two of them are so hyper and need to let loose!  They will have all the room in the world to get their energy out.  (Then maybe mom wouldn’t yell at them so much and she would spend more time cuddling with me).

I’ll keep all of my furry friends up-to-date on everything I hear from my mom (you know how she likes to talk).  Just keep checking my blog for news.  Until then, enjoy some pictures of the fam…

Halloween 2009 - I'm a pirate (complete with parrot) and Elvis as himself (real original, mom)

That's my sister, Uma, asleep in MY bed. Mom, we need to do something about this - she's gonna break it!!!

Come on already! by toledounleashed

So mom & dad are still working on this dog park thing. I don’t know how much longer I can wait. I mean, my backyard is great, but it’s the same old thing running with Elvis & Uma, no offense bro & sis!

I want to feel the wind in my fur running around two acres! Plus, I want to play with my friends!! I get to see them everyday on my walk with mom, but it’s not the same. I can only go so far with this stupid leash on and we always get tangled up.

Mom says it’s too hard walking three dogs at once because of the leashes. She can’t wait to take us to the dog park to run all night long. She says it will be perfect for hyper Elvis because it will hopefully wear him out (fingers crossed!).

A dog park in Toledo? by toledounleashed

Whoa, so my mom & dad have been talking about some sort of dog park in Toledo?!?

I didn’t really know what that meant, so I asked my younger, wiser, more hyper brother, Elvis, and he said a dog park is a place only dogs can go and run off-leash. Did you hear me?!?! OFF-LEASH! This is great! If you could hear me right now, you would know how excited I am based on how loud my snorts are.

Elvis said that all the neighborhood dogs get together and play. And, best of all, no cats allowed! This will be fantastic!! I can get together with all my buddies – Sherman, Trajen, Val, Snickers, Ella, and so many more! Mom & dad, hurry up!
